A Historic Past to a Groundbreaking Future . . .
We are extremely happy to announce that the long-awaited Heritage Center opened on time in September 2006.
In addition to significantly expanding basic space for classrooms, administrative needs and storage, the new Heritage Center design includes the following special features:
- Milking Lab and Parlor - demonstrations on milking methods, and further dairy processing
- Workshop and Milk Lab Viewing area – providing space for "hands on" activity associated with educational programs
- Greenhouse - permitting year-round demonstrations of growing of common farm crops.
- Equipment Exhibit area - showing how mechanization changed farming from a subsistence occupation to a commercial endeavor.
- Interpretive and interactive Exhibit area – increasing the understanding of farm production, and the role that farms have played historically and in today’s world.
